Tongariro River - Whitewater

Grade 3

The Tongariro River is known for its spectacular scenery, with beautiful volcanic cliffs, crystal clear water and native bush.  It is also home for the native blue duck or "Whio".

Bounce on down the river, with more than fifty rapids, which are generally grade 3 boulder gardens.  Relax between the rapids and catch a glimpse of rainbow trout in the deep pools.

After the trip head back to our purpose built rafting base for a hot shower, and a post trip hot frankfurter, fresh roll a variety of tasty sauces and a cold NZ beer or a non alcholic foxton fizz.

Just wanted to thank the KRS crew for a great trip. Our guide, Matt, was incredible! Super fun, informative, and entertaining. Everyone was really friendly and it was definitely a wonderful experience. My friend Jessica and I will be telling people about this trip for a long time. Thanks again!
